Hi all,
in 2 weeks or so my squad will be doing a mission for the Indianapolis airshow, but i have to be G.E.S. certified to do it, which im not, so i was wondering what you have to do to do it, because i found a powerpoint on eservices, and i was just wondering if I study that is there some test online i can take to get my certification.

Shouldn't you be asking this of the folks in your chain of command first?
We appreciate that you're asking the question but SarDragon is right - you should really be checking up the cadet chain of command. If no cadet is knowledgeable then you can check with.your unit ES officer. If you don't have one then check with your operations officer or a member of the command staff. Getting your GES is not a difficult process.
I more than agree with you, though i am new, and don't have the numbers to any cadets, and my es officer has college finals this week, and don't want to bother him, so i will just ask him this sunday, since you can't answer at this time.

Ok well i've done some research and after digging around i found my thougts were right, but then i found something that pointed to me possibly needing to be cadet airman to get GES is that true? I hope not because i am currently airmen basic.

Yes it is true. You can complete all the requirements ahead of time though and have them become effective upon promotion.
General Emergency Services isn't too difficult to complete. Although, being a new member, the learning curve may be a bit substantial.
To see what you need to do, login to www.capnhq.gov
On the left side you will see, "My Operations Qualifications" - click it.
On the left side you will see, "Emergency Services". In that section, click "Entry/View Worksheets" - click it.
In the big white field, towards the top, you will see a dropdown box that says "*Achievement" - click it and select "GES- General Emergency Services"
What comes up are the requirements for it.
So, for GES the requirements are:
1) Curry Award - so, you'll have to get promoted to C/Amn. See the Cadet Super Chart (http://www.capmembers.com/file.cfm/media/blogs/documents/Cadet_Super_Chart__low_1BBD4C1E6F725.pdf) for the requirements to complete that. When your promotion is recorded in the Cadet Promotion Utility, it will update that requirement automatically.
2) CAPT 116 Questionnaire. The exam can be found here (https://tests.cap.af.mil/newtests/test.cfm?grp=dos). The paragraph explaining what the exam covers links to the necessary resources to study. If you get an error when trying to access it, click "proceed anyway." The website is safe.
You can take the exam before you finish your Curry Achievement.
3) Approval. When you've completed these, make sure that your squadron's Emergency Services Officer knows, so they can make sure that everything is recorded properly.
