CAP has several lapel pins that can be worn on civilian attire. They are available on the Vanguard website at a reasonable price. There have also been some that are outdated but are still worn. If you were to pick a new design that could be worn by both Cadets and Seniors what type of design would it be. I know that they have the ESA ribbon that has been available but the chances of a cadet getting that are small. What do you think would be a good one that possibly all members could wear?
Personally, I like the American Flag/CAP Seal lapel pin currently offered by VG. It was surprisingly well made and it looks nice. Perhaps another CAP seal-type lapel pin would be a good addition.

As for Cadets getting an ESA, they usually just have to be on higher-echelon CAC (pretty much automatic), or members of many NCC or other competitive teams who seem to get these automatically as well. Personally, I think the habit of awarding ESAs for this or for merely breathing on Wing or Region staff is watering down this award. Regarding the lapel pin, I think I've only ever seen it worn once.
I would like to see a recreation of the WWII cap device with the prop and triangle badge and the sharply upswept wings.
Another would be the CAP version of the USAF roundel with the prop and triangle replacing the star.
How about about 60 others with each wing patch and each regions shield.
I like the idea of the Hap Arnold Logo that surrounds the CAP seal
The tie tac makes a fairly nice lapel pin, though I don't really see the necessity.

I would buy a lapel pin with the majcom, CAP emblem, or communications patch.

The one shown is actually the screw-back insignia from the blazer nameplate, but I have them in pin-back as well.

For some reason, I don't think this is a Civil Air Patrol item!
I wish somebody at NHQ would get smart and re-introduce the CAP lapel pin from WW II. That's the cool one. the wartime round emblem set in a set of wings. I had one years ago and lost it, and then have gradually found sterling silver replacements either at antique shops or evil bay.
That's the best one in my eyes.
If people saw those, I'm sure the triangle thing would really be a thing of the past.

Yeah, looks like this....It's about a 1 1/2-inch wide. The sterling silver ones from Ira Green or Wolf Brown are really nice. They shine and the wing design is finer.
I mentioned it to one of the women in Membership Services once, even sent her one as an example, and she said she'd look into it....she even liked it better.
Still, if I wear a CAP lapel pin, I'll wear my senior observer wings or this one.
About three years ago (maybe longer) there was a lapel pin in the form of the 1943 CAP pilots wings. That is the one and only time I've seen a similar item listed. Size was 1 inch by 3/4 inch (approx the photo showed it slightly larger)

The one Eclipse pointed out with the CAP Shield is nice. I had one but lost it a while back. I would buy that and even a couple to give out as "_____________ of the month" awards.
I do have the triprop one...will not be getting the Triangle Thingy.
