Post by: DG on March 12, 2011, 10:08:02 PM
Are any Wings funding any Form 5's?

better question is, Is any wing funding anything? The answer is not until an actual budget is passed and our appropriation becomes law.

If its an A7, the boys in blue are funding it, not the wing.

Semantics.

When the Wing is allocated AFAM training funds, the Wing CC and the Wing DO determine / influence the State Director to allocate A7 Form 5 funding.

My Wing, as of yesterday, has authorized no A7.

Until CAP gets its "plus up", we can forget any "extras".
"Self Funded" seems to be the phrase of the day.... >:D

Same here...for MPs for sure, not sure about TMPs...

I'm too low on the PIC meter to even get TMP, so they're all on me!  No biggie, I love flying, and I'd pay for the flight time anyway, may as well take the Check Pilot with me!

Not one Form 5 is being funded in our Wing.

The Region pilots are getting their Form 5's funded now.

But none in our Wing.

I can say none of my G1000 FITS training or G1000 Form 5 is being funded.

Between that and my instrument rating I've dropped some cash over the last year.

In fairness though I have gotten some funded dual G1000 instruction/practice at pilot clinics during the same period.

Has it been expressed what are the criteria for getting approved for an A7 Form 5?

In Tennessee we are funding all form 5's and 91's for current mission pilots.
