Hello I'm new to this website. My Name is A. Fland. I'm A Firefighter in New York City.
My CAP unit does 1 weekly meeting on saturdays. I wish we were able to meet up more often so cadets and staff would have something else to do on the weekdays.
How often does your unit meet up ?
Once a week, tuesday nights 7-9pm
My units all meet once a week.
At least in my wing, weekend unit meetings are fairly unusual. I hazard Tuesday night is going to be the winner nationwide.

Most people would not have the time to meet more than once a week. I'm deputy commander of my unit and my wife is commander of a different unit so we both attend two meetings a week and it's quite busy.
Tuesday night meetings and usually one weekend event per month.
Thursday night meetings with an average of one weekend activity per month.
Every Tuesday from 1700 to 2000
Tuesday nights also 1900-2130
Tuesday night is like Sunday if your in CAP, for the most part. You can find a meeting in most major cities you might be visiting on Tuesday without anything to do.
We meet on Tuesday 1845-2115, and Saturdays if not for Color Guard practices or similar events, for staff, catch up, etc.

1. A SALUTE to the FDNY.
2. Welcome to CAPtalk.
3. I wish I was gonna be there next Thursday. Happy St. Patrick's Day, ya' all.
I'm in a cadet unit, and we meet Thursdays 1900 to 2130.
My squadron meets once a week on Tuesday from 1830 - 2100. We do PT one Saturday a month. At PT Saturday, we let cadets take the written promotion exams (if not on the new system) and we get CAPF - 50s completed.
First 3 Saturdays of every month, usually with a SAREX/special activity the 4th Sat. 8)
Thank you members for your input.
My local unit meets saturdays from 1200 to 1500 Eastern Time.
I was just asking out of curiosity of any units who would actually meet more then once in a week. I noticed alot of you meet on a Tuesday night, does that have to do with CAP or its just a coincidence ?
My squadron (Brooklyn Tech Cadet Squadron, NYCG) meets on fridays from 1600-2000. Just out of curiosity, which squadron are you in A.F. Firefighter?
Senior Sq, meets 1900-2100 Wednesdays. We try to do some sort of ES training/exercise at least once a quarter.
Other units in the group: Mon, 0; Tue, 5; Wed, 2; Thu, 4; Fri, 0.
Welcome!
Monday nights 1900-2100, and every 2nd Saturday of the month get together for extra drill, O Flights, ES training, whatever we can't get done on Monday nights in two hours.

Is that one of the new squadrons?
Activity suggestions that could be schedule for weekday evenings or extended Saturdays:
1) Great Start training and/or field day for new cadets
2) Drill team or color guard practices for competition or for proficiency
3) ES trainings/Comm training/etc
4) Orientation Flights
5) Cadet staff meetings or trainings with a solid agenda and focused plan
6) Study groups for achievement testing or additional testing opportunities
7) Aerospace field trips to museums, interesting things at a nearby base, etc
All of those examples are things that our squadron has done in the last 6 months. We recently moved our meetings from Tuesdays to Thursdays due to venue availability at a larger site.
