Title: Uniforms Why We Are What We Wear
Post by: FARRIER on February 24, 2011, 08:22:09 AM
I'm reading a book called "Uniforms, Why We Are What We Where", by Paul Fussell. A former WW II infantry officer, he goes not only into military uniforms, but company uniforms like Fedex and McDonalds, Girk Scouts, Boy Scouts, Military Re-enactors, Train Conductors, Krishnas, etc. He goes into the psychology of what and why is worn, like shiny buttons on Train Conductors vests and thier signficance. With all the uniform threads on this board, it brings a new perspective. You can find it on ebay as cheap as 99 cents plus 3 dollars for shipping in like new condition. I've attached the amazon.com link.

"Girk" Scouts? What are they, female followers of William Shatner? :) I know we usually don't beat each other up over typos, but that's too funny. Sorry.
