Title: When did this officially change? I don't remember.

Can someone give me the details of when the short lived term "Civil Air Patrol is the official auxiliary of the United States Air Force" was not allowed anymore? I thought it was a cease and desist order, maybe not.

update: corrected a typo

Short lived?  Cease and Desist?

It is still appropriate and still correct, though some will argue that it should "an" vs. "the" because of MARS, but no one in the real world would
know or care about the distinction.
