There's plenty of positive articles on CAP.  Just do a google's news search "Civil Air Patrol".  You can also set it up so you get news alerts via email which is hot keyed to the article.

As the unit PAO I would NEVER release automatically anything negative about the unit UNLESS it was a response to a specific press inquiry.   It is likely that aircraft accidents, possibly serious vehicle accidents, and personal accidents at training might end up with press interest.   Other issues such as member misconduct (whether child type abuse/sex crimes or others e.g. federal/state income tax issues, DWI's, etc) may or not come to the media's attention unless CAP somehow gets mentioned in a public police report or at the trial.
