Behind the scenes of NORAD's Santa Tracking efforts.  A fun article.

Now I wonder, who will start the CAPTalk thread about CAP use of elf headgear?   ;)

Elf Headgear....Isn't that a uniform item? Can you wear Elf Boonies?

Back in the day, this was a big deal for CAP.  The Santa trek triggered a major HF communications exercise where by a formal CAPF 4 message was transmitted coast to coast and evaluated for accuracy.

One of the things we had to do during our communications classes was transcribe a taped copy of the annual santa trek message.  This was quite the challenge if you weren't used to the sometimes bizarre sound of HF radio.   :o

Cheers,
