As the Group Cadet Programs Officer, I am in the process of putting together a Group Leadership Academy.
We are planning to offer both an Airman Leadership School (to include CAP basics, the "Great Start" program, various leadership topics, etc) geared towards C/AB-C/SrA, and also a separate NCO program/school offering appropriate leadership, management, team building topics, etc.
As such, I'm in the process of writing/compiling the manuals for each program. I was wondering if there are any suggestions as to topics that should be covered, and also if anyone has Airman or NCO manuals you've used locally with success, so that I can gather ideas, etc.
Customs and courtesies is a good topic.
For Sergeants, a class on how to train and lead people without fear would be pretty good, also one on how not to have stage-fright when commanding cadets (a personal problem of mine).

Good suggestions. Considering that you are here in Group 3, be sure to keep an eye out for the upcoming NCO program.
Copy that. I wanted to do the Airman Leadership school last year but missed it, i've been wondering if FL was going to do more leadership academies.

FLWG Group 3/CP is planning to hold Airman Leadership Schools on a quarterly basis (4x/year throughout our massive Group) and NCO Schools twice a year. This is one of many things currently in the works.
Sweet. I'll do my best to try to attend the NCO academy. (http://forums.cadetstuff.org/images/smilies/icon_dance.gif)
Address the new L2L program. Even after I explained it to my new Cadets since July, some still show up at the meeting expecting to take a paper test.
Go on E-Services and request copies of the Cadet Staff Guidebook, C&C guide and get yourself and the staff enough copies of the L2L program materials.
I just completed a BCOP with 32 new Cadets, and noticed that I had to tweak some items in the Great Start Book to fit the new program.
Also remember that it does not hurt to have older cadets sit through the L2L materials, as they are the ones who will eventually be working from the material as they progress further up the "responsibility tree".
I think the safety program should be taught at these academies. It can be dull at times, but awareness and prevention of mishaps is something every leader should be able to do for their subordinates. Cadets generally have the highest number of mishaps mainly because they are more physically active than us old SM's. Awareness at the lowest levels of leadership could help benefit our safety records.
Oy...time to break out some things. We developed a curriculum for this stuff and ran it successfully for years. It has been going for some 8 years or so now.

Take a look the CAWG Cadet Programs Section web page at www.cawgcadets.org Go to the Activities section and check out the BCS and NCOS sections.
You might find some ideas there.

WIWAC, we developed a basic cadet course (BCOP) which still runs sometimes, mostly in Groups 3/4. Most of us are elsewhere now...military, out of state, etc., but that continues to run in some form. The last time I ran one was around 2006 or so. At that time, we added a C/NCO Academy. There was also a Cadet Commanders' Course which never ran but the curriculum was developed. So there exists the curriculum for those three schools. We also did some PD curriculum for the SLSs that I was involved in running.
I haven't made much progress in digging out old CAP files recently since I've been working on other things, but I am hoping to get a chance to dig out some of the things that people were looking for. I recently found much of the material for my public affairs course series which I am planning to make electronic again (data loss problem on old laptop) when I get time, but that will take a lot of time to get done. The paper versions of these things take up numerous thick binders.
I was bored at encampment a few years ago and developed a framework for a continuity site for these types of courses but nobody was interested and it never went forward. I decided not to make it just a repository for my own materials, although that was a bad choice because if I had, it would have been in one place. Opps.
