Colonel Don Davidson, NH Wing Commander and Chairman of the Nashua Airport Authority, is interviewed following a very successful belly landing of a Beechcraft at Nashua Airport (yesterday, I think)

Aside from landing OK, the best thing the pilot did was to decline an interview/comment.

heheh.  There are / were a few of us up here who manage to get Mr. Demille to show our good sides.

Right after 9/11, when that teenage student pilot stole the 172 and crashed it into a building in Tampa, I got a call from Wing HQ saying that the local ABC affiliate wanted to do an interview with someone on the subject of kids flying airplanes.  For some odd reason, I happened to have a uniform in the car, my hair was in reg, and I worked on the opposite side of Nashua Airport from where they wanted to do the interview, so I could be at the FBO in about 5 minutes.  My "30 seconds of fame" on the nightly news was a brief soundbite to the tune of "Allowing a 16 year old to fly a plane is no more dangerous than allowing them to drive a car." (I don't recall my exact quote, but they wanted to sensationalize this kid as a terror threat and I wouldn't give them a quote that would do that...)
