Title: Unit below wing budget template or guidance
Post by: Eclipse on August 06, 2010, 03:41:32 AM
Anyone got anything that works?

This is the first year they are required, and they are due in a few weeks.  I'd love to actually be able to send
something to my units besides "git 'er done".

I'm sure your units, like me, would love to get an example....

A good start would be to take the old CAPF 173-2 or your last year's finance summary from wing and use it as your budget template.
Look at last year's income and use it as your budgeted income for the next year.  After that, budget your expenses to include such things as rent, utilities, activities, cadet activities, etc. for the year.  It's a good idea to budget in a "reserve" for unexpected events.
Income should equal expenses.  Income sources should be categorized as to dues, donations, interest/dividends or other.  It should be a pretty simple exercise.
The hard part is keeping to the budget.
