Title: Bug Out Gear Backpack
Post by: Senior on June 21, 2010, 03:36:06 AM
Is the BugOut Gear Backpack a good backpack?  They look well made
and well thought out.  Are these packs G.I. Issue or just sold to new
privates and airmen on post/base?  I have seen several at flea markets and was wondering.  Thanks. :D

I saw a few of them on deployment, and not just owned by junior enlisted. As to the quality, I can't recall anyone complaining about them, but that it's necessarily an endorsement. Best thing to do is find someone that has one, and ask. I'm sure someone on CAPTalk has one.

They're very good quality.  I bought the $50 one last year and it's held up quite well.  They're not issue, but apparently AAFES likes them because you see them at just about every exchange all over the place.

Picked one up at the PX here for $20 - the price was right.  Haven't had the occasion to use it yet, although I plan to use it on the trip home.

the backpacks you are issued are wayyyy better. my bugout bag is a bit too bulky and i had to pay almosy $70 at the BX for it. lolololol but they selling USMC ones for like $20.....but i dont think things would go too well if i wore one of those.
