NVWG just passed their Graded Readiness Exercise.
We got an over all Excellant!
Ground Teams and Ground Branch both got an Excellant! (the only two areas to get an Excellant Rating).
Super!!! That is great news. I know that a lot of effort went into this. Congrats to all.
They were not the only two areas, that got an excellent.
Um, what's a GRE?
Around these parts we call them GTE's.
Meh, more Left-Coast rhetoric!
(heh, congrats, BTW!)
GTE = Guided Training Exercise (not graded)
Nevada Wing: Overall Score Excellent
CAP Incident Commander Taggert Excellent
Mission Safety Officer Church Excellent
Public Information Officer Cooper Excellent
Mission Chaplain Tattersall Outstanding
Agency Liaison Officer Hahn Excellent
Operations Section Chief Irigoin Outstanding
Air Operations Branch Director Jobe Successful
Aircrews N/A Successful
Flight-line Supervisor N/A Not Graded
Ground Branch Director N/A Excellent
Ground Teams N/A Excellent
Finance/Administrative Section Chief Riek Successful
Logistics Section Chief Callison Successful
Communications Unit Leader Nagel Successful
Planning Section Chief Lynn Successful
Information technology Miller Outstanding
CISM Irby Outstanding
ARCHER N/A Not Graded
We get - Biennial Evaluations (the ubiquitous "Eval") and GTE's - never heard the "Eval" referred to as a "GRE"...
I had already posted my congrats to the NVWG earlier when I learned of the Excellent Rating received. Then I learned how the Mission Chaplain and CISM rated -- both received an Outstanding Rating!!!
Join me in congratulating Chaplain, Maj Elizabeth Tattersall and Maj Carolyn Irby (also a Character Development Instructor) for a job extremely well-done. This is a result of training, planning and being prepared by members of our Chaplain Corps.
BRAVO ZULU, Chaplain Tattersall and Maj Carolyn Irby.

Emphasized just for you, Bob. That was the very first sentence in the thread! 8)
Um, yah...- I am questioning the terminology, which is either being used incorrectly, or different in that region. ::)

Or it may simply be what I was told that it was.
Does it really matter?
Two years ago they called it a DRE....go figure.
Call it what you may....GTE...GRE..DRE....Evaluated SARX...(or as the AF referred to it: Mission Employment Evaluation, CAP Nevada Wing, 16-18 April, 2010)...ABC...the main thing is -- the good folks in the NVWG worked hard in preparing their Wing for a big look-see by the USAF and performed in an "Excellent" manner. I am proud to be associated with such dedicated, selfless serving, trained and motivated individuals.
Congratulations

As a member of the "Eval team", I found the members of the wing to be hard working and dedicated. They rolled with the punches and came through with flying colors. They deserved their "Excellent" and I have no doubt what so ever that, that if they keep up the good work, they will achieve an "Outstanding", two years from now.
Nice Job!
We should fight over the acronym.

We should fight over the acronym.
>:D
Initialism is when you just use the initials: Defense Satellite Communications System (DCSC) Dee Ess Sea Ess.
Acronyms is where the abbreviation spells out a word you or you pronounce it as if there is other letters present:
DCSC=DISK-IS.
Or Strategic Air Command=SAC....not Ess Aiee Sea.
>:D
So was this an Eval or a GTE? Before anyone asks, those are the proper terms.
AFI 10-2701 (http://members.gocivilairpatrol.com/media/cms/CAP_USAFI_10_2701.pdf)
Quote1.2.4. Evaluate each CAP wing Operational Evaluation (OPS EVAL) biennially and par-ticipate in a GTE in the off year. Biennial GTEs and OPS EVALs are designed to exercise and evaluate CAP's ability to operate under the NIMS.
It was an Eval - the GTE was last year.
Congratulations to the Wing for a successful SAREVAL (sorry... residual Texas Wing-ism ;D) from Nevada Wing's lone member in Kwajalein, Marshall Islands! We're keeping busy ramping up for an upcoming mission, can't say much more.

Very nice job then. An excellent isn't just handed out by the Air Force. You gotta work for it.
