Well, it is now official (i.e. certificate in hand)...
The Governor of Kentucky named me a "Kentucky Colonel" after being nominated for my community involvement/service.
I know there are a few other Ky Cols here on CAPTalk and so I just figured I'd let you know that another has been added to your numbers. :)
Now get some one to nominate you as a Nebraska Admerial!
BTW....congrats
Oh! Oh! I want to be one. I make some mean chicken, too.
Congrats.
My grandmother was from Burnside, Kentucky.
But the $64,000 question is...are you going to reveal the secret recipe of all those herbs and spices?
Does this mean you get free KFC for life?

So now you're a member of the defunct ABA franchise? :)
Congratulations on your honor, and more importantly, all the volunteer service you did to earn it.
...and you can get a snazzy new uniform, too.

Yes, that really is the official Kentucky Colonel uniform from the 1930's.
And no, Colonels don't get free chicken...or Kentucky Derby tickets either. ;)
Sorry if this question has already been asked....
What are the qualifications to become a Kentucky Colonel?

I believe it's an award for good citizenship and volunteer service bestowed by the Governor of Kentucky.

When I was a kid and would hear about Colonel Sanders, I thought, "what the heck, if he's a Colonel where's his Army uniform?"
I think it's kind of in the same vein as a Nebraska Admiral, Indiana's Sagamore of the Wabash or South Carolina's Order of the Palmetto.
This effects your CAP grade how exactly?
Hint, hint.

Didn't the late Michael Jackson wear this same uniform on this Thriller tour? :D
