I was just wondering who out there in CAPTalk Land is also a current or former CAP Legal Officer or an attorney or paralegal or law professor?
We have a number of issues that are unique to CAP, given our bifurcated organizational structure, regulations, and so forth. We've had some interesting discussions on trademarks and licensing regarding The Hock and now, an interesting discussion on the applicability of the ADA to CAP.
As a new CAP member and Legal Officer, I'd welcome discussion among the CAP legal community (and of course our interested non-legal (not illegal!) colleagues) on some of the legal issues we do or may encounter.
Obviously, no giving away of attorney/client confidences or names of people involved in personnel matters or investigations.
Chime in if interested.

Todd, since you are new, you may not be aware of the CAP re-director e-mail response forum for CAP legal officers. We post info and requests and questions regarding CAP and some non-CAP stuff. We also have NLOC (National Legal Officer College) coming up in April in Dallas, TX. If at all possible, you should attempt to come. If you are Wing LO, your Wing may foot part of the bill for NLOC. If you want, hit me PM and we can share e-mails and stuff. I am a LO and my wife is Wing LO. I don't see why your idea of opening up a forum on CAPTALK would be a problem, but there might need to be some discretion regarding some discussions..
We have one. Its imbedded in the "Uniform" forum.
