Going on three cap-less weeks now and am starting to miss it!
Have you put your meeting participation into "pending" status in protest of your "pending" rank in e-Services? ;-)
Nope that was nothing, Unit CC forgot to press a few buttons should be fixed by the time I wake up
I have Cerebral Palsy and needed surgical treatment for my hamstrings. I'm in two straight leg casts but I'm still keeping up with the Unit CC and helping out. Just not physically being at the meeting.
Daniel hang tough, won't be much longer and then you'll be back in the saddle again. In the mean time, study your aerospace and leadership and if you get bored read 52-16 to preview your future.

Geez, you're going to let something as small as hamstring surgery and two straight leg casts keep you from the meetings. [Insert WIWAC story here including snow and hail as well as gunfire, parachuting and saving a three year old].
Just kidding, get well and get back to us soon!

ronically, I read
CAPR 101-1
CAPM 39-1
among others.
Everyone said that if if I keep pushing myself, I'm going to get burnt out.. but I'm hoping to become an exception to that rule.

Yea, I'm a wimp.
Daniel: just a bump in the road: all of us have been through them at one time or another. In the past six years I have had two total knee replacements and two broken bones in my feet: just slowed me down a bit but that it all. I was driving after three weeks and flying in four, after the knee replacements.
Hang in there and you'll be back in the saddle soon.
Hang in there Cadet.
Does your unit have internet, or someone have a laptop and cellular stick, tethered phone?
Ya could put your face on skype and a computer on the table.. and participate.
A great time to get some extra AE/Module work done too, so you can lick the next test, and so forth right out of the gate! Then you'll even have more time to soak it all in when you go in again. :)
Be strong, Daniel! You're not the type who gets slowed by cat-gut and plaster. Show'em what you're made of!

bit off subject, but if a cadet takes a speciality track exam will that carry over for when the cadet becomes a senior?
The test yes, but alone it doesn't mean much.
I promoted to C/MSgt minimum time. I took my time later to enjoy the moment.
actually I didnt promote every two months, my unit never had anyone ever receive the Wright Bros. award so when I passed the test. The old Unit CC called up the chain of command and asked them to promote me, a month early so I could be a c/ssgt at Wing conference. This last promotion however took a while to get processed and ended up about evening the score
WHAT??!!
You are letting a HOSPITAL STAY keep you away from CIVIL AIR PATROL?
And here I thought today's cadets were HARDCORE.
CAP is LIFE. Everything else is just DETAILS, SON.
;D ;D :P :P
You get yourself well, cadet. CAP will be waiting on you when you get ready.
Take care and God bless.

Update - I got my cast off today and am trying to get back to bending so my unit can have their favourite C/Non-commissioned officer back in commission
Carry on, Mr. Lewis. Take care of yourself.
You're a real inspiration!
Jack
You're quite a bulldog! Get'em!
Carry on!
Daniel,
Glad you are doing well. Go get 'em. What I would suggest if you have a situation where you can't make meetings for extended periods due to medical issues is to work with your DCC or SQ/CC and see if they will arrange to come and administer tests IAW CAP regs. at your home, so that you can still test. Other than that, see if there are ways to help with squadron projects that do not require you to physically be present. Good luck.
Keep up the great work, Sgt Lewis! Thanks for the inspiration.

I do hope that the Surgery goes well and you can return to CAP ASAP!
Good Luck.
Went to my first meeting tonight in plain clothes, can't wear the uniform yet due to the odd footwear.
Ladies and Gentlemen, good luck getting rid of me now :)
Thank you all for the encouraging words :)
