Title: ES Gear
Post by: Cms.sloane on March 07, 2010, 06:06:38 AM
I am a not the new ES guy. I have gtm 3 signed off but have fallen out of ES for a long time. What new gear should I go and buy like bags and stuff. I really want to focus more on CAP Radioes since those are the hardest to find. >:D

Just my $0.02

Don't go out and buy a CAP compliant radio.  Your squadron will have ISR's until you get GTL qualified then you will be issued (or should be issued) your own EF Johnson radio.

As far as gear goes, Wal-Mart has just about everything you need.  Look into the GTM handbook and go after it.

Did you quit and come back?  Considering your grade, I find it hard to believe you fell off ES "for a long time"...

It says above you have your GT3 completed and fell off of "ES" for a "long time" - as an A1C who didn't quit, you've been in total may 6 months?  When did you have time to complete GT3 and then fall off ES for a "long time"?

Hey, Bob, how about lightening up a bit. It's posts like this that scare off the new people.

Holding grudges against a cadet is a bit "unbecoming."  Now, if he made some point here that he went back on after making a big deal...then I would have a different comment...people have to be put into check when they are out of order.

But to continue it to other threads as an ad hominem?  I would have to call a point of order of some sort.

Due to a lack of homogenious administration of the CAP cadet Program...some units focus on ES more than cadet advancement...others do no ES at all...it would not be out of the realm of possibility for a cadet to have a GT3 in less than three months depending on 1) SARex attendance and 2) actual CAP call outs.  As for gear, he may have used "squadron" issued materials and not have purchased personal items until this query.

Press the issue       or not

Some valid points on CT  .... Not everyone sees everything like you, BOB!!

Again, less than perfect response from a cadet...better send the the Internets and CAP police after the the offender ::) ::) ::) ::)
