Wonder why no one from WA Wing has sent anything in to CAP News Online. The NHQ folks are depending on scraping coverage from media outlets about this search. Unfortunately, a quite common occurrence lately.
Also notice on the tape, that CAP is not identified. Only a shot of a CAP 172 taking off ties in to CAP. No CAP official was interviewed about the search.
Washington CAP is not the lead agency, so all news releases have to be approved by the state, however the State IC did approve a release that was written by the wing PAO for release to NHQ, not sure why it was not printed.
News reports on the local channels do recognize CAP as a part of the search. Unfortunately none of the brief interviews done during the taping were never shown. We work for the State Dept. of Transportation when a search is launched.
9506X taking off is one of the 3 182's we are using.

Interesting news clip in the Fresno Bee this AM to the effect that there may be some suspicious circumstances surrounding this missing aircraft. Seems that there is a report to the effect that the pilot was up on charges and awaiting some sort of hearing(I don't want to repeat the reported charges). He supposedly had his dog with him and a two year supply of dog food onboard.
To this suspicious mind, it sounds like he may have decided to disappear. Good luck WAWG.
