My New Years resolution is to give up television.

Before we veer to far off-topic-
My family has been without TV (we still watch DVDs) for 2 months. I don;t really miss it, to be honest. Neither do the kids.

Stonewall,
As a bleeding liberal -- Personal 70%, Economic 10% -- I'd be interested in hearing if you've determined if you're "ultra-conservative."

My .02 liberal cents... Don't worry about what someone has labelled you; I don't believe a person can be labeled by posts made on a specific board or by the profession chosen.  There are gay cops and soldiers (oh my!), liberal economists, socially conservative science teachers, and many other "anomalies" that really are NOT anomalies -- because that's what democracy is supposed to be -- free choice.

And heck, even if you ARE ultra-conservative, so what?  (I can't believe I said that.) But really, no one should be ashamed of their convictions.

When I was a young LT, I went to the wedding of a friend who had worked on Bill Clinton's campaign.  Her friends were aggressive liberals.  When they heard I was in the military, they started attacking me, saying I was *obviously* a Republican (said as a swear word).  At the time, I was a registered Independent who didn't care very much about politics.  They about started choking when I said I didn't really care about politics, and that I was "non-denominational" (instead of non-partisan).

That being said, I have become more conservative as I have gotten older, and right now I seem to the "right-winger" among you (ha ha).

According to the graph on the previous page I'm a centrist.  I don't know and I haven't thought about it much since I last posted in this thread.

ACCORDING TO YOUR ANSWERS,

You fall exactly on the border

of two political philosophies...

.

CONSERVATIVE

LIBERTARIAN

CONSERVATIVES tend to favor economic freedom, but frequently

support laws to restrict personal behavior that violates "traditional
values." They oppose excessive government control of business,

while endorsing government action to defend morality and the

traditional family structure. Conservatives usually support a strong

military, oppose bureaucracy and high taxes, favor a free-market

economy, and endorse strong law enforcement.

LIBERTARIANS support maximum liberty in both personal

and economic matters. They advocate a much smaller government;

one that is limited to protecting individuals from coercion

and violence. Libertarians tend to embrace individual

responsibility, oppose government bureaucracy and taxes,

promote private charity, tolerate diverse lifestyles, support the

free market, and defend civil liberties.

The RED DOT on the Chart shows where you fit on the political map.

Your PERSONAL issues Score is 50%.
Your ECONOMIC issues Score is 90%.
