James Roy McFarland, 43, husband to Kristy Morgan McFarland, passed away at UK Medical Center in Lexington, on Sunday, August 29, 2021. Roy was born January 13, 1978, in Georgetown, Kentucky to Patrice Mefford of Stamping Ground, Kentucky and James Allen McFarland of London, Kentucky. He was a Lexus lab tech at Toyota in Georgetown. Roy was a United States Air Force Veteran, a member of Civil Air patrol, enjoyed flying drones and coached Scott County Youth Softball.

In addition to his wife, Kristy and his parents he is survived by his children: Todd Michael McFarland of Georgetown, Kentucky, Jamie Erin McFarland of Morehead, Kentucky, Aaron Joseph McFarland (Clary) of Okinawa, Japan, and Lacey Alisha McFarland of Georgetown, Kentucky. He is also survived by his brother: Larry Wesley Jackson of Louisa, Kentucky; sisters: Amy Curtis Jones and Holly Marie McFarland, both of London, Kentucky and Sara Danielle Garland (Scott) of Georgetown, Kentucky; nephews: Cashaus Agee, Eli Garland and nieces: Alianna Jackson and Kayla Jones.

Special Note:
SSgt Roy McFarland had been a CAP member since 2019 and served as the Squadron NCO, Aerospace Education NCO and Search and Rescue NCO. Sergeant McFarland served in the US Air Force from 1996-2000 as an Aircraft Armament Systems Specialist with final assignment at Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ.

Sergeant McFarland leaves behind his wife, his parents and four children. Visitation will be Thursday, September 2, 2021 at Tucker, Yocum, & Wilson Funeral Home in Georgetown, KY from 1700-2000. Funeral services will be 0900 Friday, September 3, 2021, at the funeral home and 1100 services at Camp Nelson National Cemetery in Nicholasville, KY.
