I'm having problems finding the answer to this in 39-1.  The question is:

Do senior members without grade wear the CAP cuts outs on the collar of the white shirt like they do with the AF blue shirt?

Thank you in advance

Nope. It doesn't list them, so don't wear them.

I assume that goes for the gray sleeves too

Those blank gray sleeves are for pinning enlisted rank on, and there's not supposed to be cutouts as it's not listed. None of the photos have them on them either. There's no reason to make the white shirt "distinctive" over the blue's uniform with nothing else other than the "tiny" print on the name plate, that otherwise could be a new AF member .. or .. something like that.

Seriously, YOU'RE asking this question???    Have you been taking your meds? >:D

(I know Grumpy, and he knows I'm havin fun with his brain!)

I thinks that's the problem.  Naw, somebody told me there had been some recent changes such as that and that the cadets could wear the blue barret in CAWG now.  I haven't found the changes so I'm just checking.

ICL from National circa last year.

Nothing about G/W changes.

The CAWG supplement only covers:

The CAWG GT uniform.
Sailplane operations
Shoulder cords
..and the wing patch size vs. location difference.

Nothing about berets, authorized patches, etc.

I have a simple solution for the Blue Beret problem. Specify a uniform for the activity, unit meeting, etc.

Again, the NHQ ICL authorized the BB at CAWG as well as in the other 51 wings...

It's not listed in 39-1, but I see it widely done nonetheless.

You've seen members wearing the Blue Beret with whites?

I would be handing out atomic wedgies like they were free!

I didn't and don't see the link between G/W Changed and the BB changes. To me they appear to be separate questions in separate posts.

Erh...no.

I've seen the whites being worn by SMWOG with the CAP collar brass.

I've also seen the blank epaulette sleeves being worn by SMWOG, both with blues and with G/W.

A blue beret, or any other colour beret, as long as it is worn without insignia, could be wearable with the G/W, as it is civilian headgear.

I've thought of getting an RAF blue-grey beret to wear (again, without insignia) with the G/W.

I've even seen Greek fisherman's hats worn with the G/W.

I can't find in the CAPM 39-1 that civilian headgear is authorized for the G/W. Where is it authorized?

Actually CAPM 39-1 Table 4-3 item 9 says: "Headgear is not required but a CAP baseball cap may be worn." So fooey on them and good call on you!

By far, the lack of headgear is what makes it a non-uniform for me. Indoors, it's fine. Outdoors...can't help but reach for a non-existent flight cap.
