NOTF reports:
QuoteSources at the Pentagon told News of the Force this morning that CAP Brig. Gen. Amy S. Courter, the organization's acting national commander, it there this morning, meeting with U.S. Air Force officials. There's no word, though, on the discussion topics.
I'm going to take a wild guess and say that Brig Gen Courter is meeting with Air Force officials and that it is or should be pretty normal for the leader of an auxiliary to meet with leaders of its parent organization. I'm not drawing any conclusions. This could be about uniforms, about AFIADL testing prcedures, about budgeting or operations. Could be about her becoming the next CC... dunno. Hopefully the latter.
Ah... and now the spectre of SPECULATION begineth. By this afternoon there will be twelve or 13 theories we all suggest...by tomorrow noon those rumors will be reported as "Facts" at various places. >:D
Let's just take a deep breath and wait for the official word. Only you can prevent RUMOR FIRES!
Hey, when I was a Specialist in the Army and on special duty at the Pentagon, I had 2 cadets from my squadron do an "OJT" at my office. Had them wearing their CAP uniform, doing work, delivering papers, meeting high speed people.
One day, while walking down the main concourse, the two cadets get tapped on the shoulder and turn around. It's BGen Anderson, Gol Bergman, and the Deputy Secretary of the AF for Reserve Affairs who were meeting with General Fogleman that day. Gen Anderson was so surprised and pleased, that they took us up to their meeting to me the Chief of Staff and then took us to lunch at the Executive Dining Hall. Later, I got a letter from General Anderson.
So yeah, I don't think it's uncommon for the CAP CC to be in the Pentagon. Obviously with "stuff" going on, we only assume that it's a big deal.
Edited to emphasize last paragraph.
Come on. We don't need anymore rumors. I swear some people act like 12yr old chatty kathys. Why does everything have to have some secret meaning. If its anything important that needs to be publicized, it will be. Kill the specualtion.
I think she was there for the coffee.
I think she's there discussing Brad and Angelina. Or maybe whether or not Lindsey Lohan's career is over.
Oh, I know... she's there talking about Drew Carey taking over The Price is Right.

Bah.
"No, I'm not the National Commander of Civil Air Patrol. But I did stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night!"
They were probably concerned about my coup. But she needn't worry, I will gladly cede power to her until her term is up.
WHAT!!!!!
You mean nobody's heard of the Search and Recovery mission for Jimmy Hoffa?
You mean Hoffa's ELT is STILL going off?
Last I was in the Pentagon, I recall there being some important people hanging around in various offices and hallways. I suppose, Brig Gen Courter being an important person in the realm of CAP, was probably there to talk with people who are important to their organizations, about matters of importance.
...or maybe she was just there for afternoon tea.
I'm wondering why NOTF cares what BrigGen Courter does at the Pentagon. Why such attention to what is basically a routine considering she's in charge of a 60,000 person organization aligned with the Dept of the Air Force. Can't she just visit the Secretary to schmooze?
^ Simple... cause `ol skippy boy likes to stir the CAPtalk pot by publishing little 'gems' like that...
And look at that, it worked.
Come And Postulate?
I'm staying out of it. Already got in trouble over speculation once. ;D
I seem to recall that several National Commanders made it a habit to brief the Air Staff on a regular basis on the status and progress of the organization. BG Courter's being at the pentagon is a regularly scheduled meeting and nothing worry about.
I don't know, but if I was her, I'd be heading to the militaria store on the concourse.
They have challenge coins from just about every COCOM, Service Command and division/ship in the military. They also have CAP coasters with the old CAP/USAFAUX Command Patch shaped coin worked into it. You want to get one of those before they retool for the US/CAP Command Patch.
Ole Skippy has been right on a lot of stuff he printed, PROPS to NOTF

I wanted that job.
Jack
Maybe they have a Starbucks there?
My money is courtesy call on the new Acting Assistant Secretary who deals with CAP things.

That said. If each of you reading this thread could have a private meeting with such a Pentagon person in the last year of an 8-year Presidential administration before another election cycle heats up, what would be your top discussion priorities?
