And still authorized to wear. The AF is very, very specific about what patches can be worn on the flight suit, and any type of morale patch is not allowed. heck, Wing and Region Commanders are not even allowed to supplement what can be worn on them.

Absolutely correct—and almost universally ignored.
If they were legal they wouldn't be morale patches.

Someone should mention that to the AF. Of all the people wearing flight suits at my base, I'm not sure there's a single flyer wearing the same patch setup. Probably the most consistent patch worn is on the pencil/pen Velcro strip that shows OSU Buckeye Pride.

What the AF does within its own universe is up to the AF. I have served as a member of evaluation teams at the region level, and the one item that AF Liaison Officers, will always bring up, it seems like, was improper wear of the flight suit.
Nonsense. They're illegal in the Air Force as well yet every pilot including commanders and wing commanders wear them. I've even seen them on the flight suit wearers during active duty inspection. There's a difference between wearing a morale item at the squadron or trainex and being complaint and on your best behavior during inspection.
Now that we got the requisite quoting of regs out of the way....

You funny guy, you used inspection and flight suit in the same sentence!

I was thinking more along the line of Pat Morita (Arnold) from Happy Days.
Excellent, I needed something new to gift to people who participate in missions I run point on. My Black Swan patches are running low.

Morale patches on flight suits are authorized for active duty Air Force
" Small morale tabs may be worn on the exposed Velcro of the left sleeve when the pen pocket cover is removed; wear is not restricted. Squadron Commanders will approve and maintain a list of acceptable morale patches and tabs for wear by assigned Airmen."
Since you wanted to get the quoting of regs out of the way.
Is it really that hard to post without being snarky? Just wondering.

How about quoting the entire paragraph and not just cherry picking the part you agree with.
AFI 36-2903, 7 February 2020, Attachment 6.3.10 Morale Patches and Tabs. Wing Commanders may authorize the wear of morale patches on the shoulders of the FDU on Fridays, or during special events. AF Reserve and ANG personnel commanders may authorize wear during weekend drills on Friday, Saturday or Sundays or during special events. A morale patch is defined as a design symbol locally developed and displayed. A morale patch will not depict a current or past official organizational emblem or any alteration thereof. Small morale tabs may be worn on the exposed Velcro of the left sleeve when the pen pocket cover is removed; wear is not restricted. Squadron Commanders will approve and maintain a list of acceptable morale patches and tabs for wear by assigned Airmen.
Maybe we could suggest a similar adjustment to our regs?

It's not the part I agree or disagree with, it's just the part that applies. Morale tabs are the patch in question, which go on the pen tab. Therefore the restrictions on morale patches do not apply to morale tabs based on the sentence, wear is not restricted. The first half of that paragraph is guidance for a different patch than the one we are talking about and doesn't apply, which is why I didn't copy it. If you want to also discuss morale patches on the shoulder, then it would apply.
And I was only being snarky in response to a snarky post that made incorrect assumptions about uniform regs.
Can we stop using the term "illegal" when referring to compliance with CAP regulations?
Unauthorized and unlawful are different.

Agreed, and this topic is now unpostable.
