I'm kind of surprised at how many enlisted (almost 50/50) Cadets you have in this RCLS. Having instructed at RCLS and so forth, I've always seen the Mitchell Award as a pre-req for attendance.

I'd bet most will be officers by July.

I would think MA, CT, RI, NH, & VT wings would likely send their cadets up to Concord rather than via the "mean" roads of NJ drivers challenges faced trying to get to McGuire >:D :angel:

Oh, McGuire isn't that hard. The roads and signs are much better than they were back when I lived in NJ. Acces from the north is great - Turnpike to the right exit, and follow the signs.

Hey hey hey. Please do not get North Jersey ideas mixed with South Jersey! All those city-slickers from Newark area give us a bad name. Don't even get me started on Jersey Shore!  ::)

And Cape May isn't the Jersey shore?

Yeah, but I'm referring to the TV show, which refers to mostly North Jersey beaches and people.

I knew exactly what you were talking about. I started my time in CAP in NJWG, and served in two different units.

--Who needs to worry about driving in NJ? See http://encampment.njwg.cap.gov/RCLStravel.html to see the modes of travel you can use. But really, JB-MDL is very easy to get to.

--The 2010 program required cadets to be C/MSgt-C/Major and it was a great experience for all.  NHQ/CP's proposed RCLS curriculum... released in the latter  half of 2010 calls for cadets to be C/MSgt-C/Major:  http://www.capmembers.com/media/cms/rcls_72FB359B3FC55.pdf

Please stop bashing North Jersey, the economic bastion supporting our 'country cousins'  at the Shore and points South!

The problem isn't the location, It's the Troll Roads. Following I-95 $1 NY Turnpike, $6 Bridge, NJ Turnpike $6

One of the interesting aspects of living in NJ - you can drive across water into the state, but you have to pay to leave. Bridges, tunnels - they're all the same - pay to leave the state.

BTW, you can get through the state without using the NJTP if you plan it right.

Geographically diverse? Four states, the two of which are the most, are jammed together that their metropolitan areas might as well be the same place?

+++URGENT+++URGENT+++URGENT+++

Due to a lack of applications for the 2011 NER Region Cadet Leadership School - North the Region Commander has made the decision to postpone RCLS-N until December.

The NEW dates for RCLS-N are 26-DEC-2011 to 02-JAN-2012. All other details concerning location, cost, and application procedures will remain the same. Applications for RCLS-N will be accepted starting in mid September; the RCLS-N will be updated with information as it become available. http://nerrclsnorth.weebly.com.

This is a prime opportunity for cadets that have conflicts with NCSA's, Encampment, etc to participate in the NER RCLS Program and take that next step in their Cadet career. We are excited to offer this "off season" RCLS to the cadets in Northeast Region.

If there are any questions please feel free to contact me right away.
