Looking to buy size 10.5 uniform shoes.  High gloss.  Bates or Rothco style.

If these are for an adult, avoid Rothco, and get the Bates. Bates are more expensive, but are sturdier, and more comfortable. If for a cadet, evaluate how "rough" they are on shoes, and any potential size changes. The Rothcos might last an entire size change period. Or not. Frequency of wear is also a factor.

The high gloss shoes (formerly known as Corfams) mar easily, and do not withstand abusive wear. You can get a pair of leather shoes and put a decent shine on them, and have them last several years. My leather shoes are well over ten years old, and still in excellent condition. I used to go through a pair of Corfams about every 18-24 months in the Navy.

[edited to add] Oh, sources. I would avoid used shoes, even if only "lightly" used. They  will, at best, be uncomfortable, and cand provide sanitary issues.

Find a Bates store here: https://www.batesfootwear.com/US/en/stores . There are also several mail order sources - https://www.galls.com , https://tacticalgear.com , and https://www.qmuniforms.com .

Thank you SARDragon!  The shoes are for my cadet son.  He is going to NCSA Honor Guard academy.  So your recommendation will be adhered to, as I am sure they will be doing tons of drill.  thanks for your imput.
