Whole time I have been a member of CAP.  For a lot of that time, a lot of my income went to CAP where I not only paid for my membership, bought my uniforms, funded my activities and bought my gear, but also that of the squadron and a few low-income cadets and/or seniors.
Serving since 1987.

Retired, retired, retired: yep, three retirement incomes.  Occasionally fly a charter flight, fly for Angelflightwest and the local Sheriff.  Spend a lot of my time feeding horses: my wife is in the horse business.  Probably one of the busier retired guys you ever met.

Other than that, not much.  Oh, yeah, run the CD program in CAWG.

Mariachi violinist?

I am reminded of my next door neighbors I had in Los Angeles before I moved to NY. I don't mind the music at all....Just not "blasting" every weekend untill 2 AM in the morning.
They finally got the hint when I got tired of it and went out in the backyard and played my bagpipes at 7 AM while they were probably hung over.... >:D

Out here we play mostly at ranches.  Mother's Day is the night for all night caterwalling (sp) since people demand music for their mother/wife at ungodly hours.  You are well justified in playing the pipes during the HANGOVER...pay it forward I always say.

I write software.  I won't try to make it sound more exciting than it is.

"PC LOAD LETTER?"

And Ed's a TV consultant? I'd like to know if he does news consulting, or just general station consulting. (Engineering? Sales? Etc.?)

Me? I'm a journalist. Right now, I edit a little paper in St. Petersburg, Fla., but before that, was a visual editor at The Detroit News, Sarasota (Fla.) Herald-Tribune, Pittsburgh Tribune-Review and smaller papers in Ohio, West Virginia and California before that.

The redesign we did in Pittsburgh won international acclaim in 2003, and I've redesigned two other newspapers, the latest being the one I'm working right now. I know Photoshop and Illustrator like second nature, as well as the business end of a Nikon and the phone, keyboard and reporter's notebook. Yip, a jack of all trades.

And I covered this year's baseball playoffs and World Series. (There was at least one other CAP member in the stands at Game 2 in St. Petersburg, but he works for the Phillies here in Clearwater and he's my communications guy.)

Toledo, Ohio police officer...  Retired.

Major, Military Police, US Army Reserve...  Retired.

Presently my CAP habit is paid for by my business, the "School of Armed Security."  I provide high-quality firearms training to armed security officers, and equally high-quality training to unarmed security officers through a contract with another security school.  I also make a few extra dollars by training armed citizens in what they need to obtain a Florida concealed weapon license.

So after several years as a hard-working Republican, I find myself with no job and no plans to get a job, dependent on checks from the government on the first of the month to pay my bills, and using a gun to get more money when I need it.

In other words, I have morphed into a Democrat!  Somebody pop me a cold 40-ounce Old English!

You didn't officially become one until you voted like one. Just saying.  ;D

I'm a paid EMT with a private company looking to get a job as an EMT with Stony Brook University Medical Center.

I also finishing a BA in Psychology at said Stony Brook University, which I have no intention of using for at least several years.

I'm enrolled in the Advanced EMT-Critical Care Program at the Nassau County VEEB EMS Academy.

After I finish my BA, I'm going to EMT-P school.

Do that for a few years, then go to RN school.

I am an active duty SF-IDMT(Surface Fleet-Independent Duty Corpsman) with the Coast Guard(Advanced level Corpsman).   Former Marine Machine Gunner and TOW II Anti armor missile man.   Total combination of 17 years.

You went from the Marines to the Coast Guard?   You must get horrid amounts of grief from your old Marine buddies....    >:D

Actually, after talking with a few of them(and people from other branches) they wish they were with me!! After all, the pay is the same no matter if we sleep in the mud or in a nice rack under way!(well... we do get sea pay and others, so I think that we in the CG get paid more!! LOL).

LtCol057

Done a variety of things.

6 years as medic/pharmacy specialist in Army Reserve
2 years as police officer
waiter
retail sales
pizza delivery
15 years as EMT and Paramedic
3 years as volunteer EMT/Firefighter
now, working for US Postal Service as carrier for last 11 years.

Had better hours as paramedic, but the pay sucked. Now if someone ticks me off, all I can do is pepper spray them or lose their mail.  At least when I was paramedic, I could stick them with a BIG needle.  ;D
