"In accordance with the CAP Constitution and Bylaws, the selection process for the next Chief Executive Officer, who will also serve as the National Commander of CAP, is announced.  The successful applicant will succeed the current National Commander, Major General Mark E. Smith, CAP, whose term expires at our Summer Command Council and Annual Conference in August 2021. The new Chief Executive Officer/National Commander will be appointed by the Board of Governors to a three year term, which may be extended."

Will this be the first National Commander to be sworn in virtually? Only time will tell!
