SWYA (cadet A1C James Collins) Just earned the distinguished marksman NRA award in 4 weapons. Another fancy shiny bling to add to the cadet uniform for him. Way to go.

Nope, cadets are authorized to wear the NRA marksman badge IAW CAPM 39-1. It's not exactly "shiny" in the sense of high-polish/ultra-brite, but it is metallic.

The ribbon you may be thinking of is the AF SAEMR, which I know you're familiar with George.
