I was at a CAP event a few weeks ago and I heard a rumor that CAP was going to transfer away from the Black Combat Boots we currently wear with ABUs/BDUs to the green/tan boots the Air Force wears with its version of the ABUs. Is this true or is this just a rumor?
Rumor.
For now, it's a rumor. But who knows, it might happen.

It *could* happen. We had white t-shirts when we transition to BDUs and that eventually changed.
But for now, as far as anybody knows, no.
It needs to happen. But probably won't.
Meanwhile, AFJROTC goes on with subdued nametapes, sage boots, issued service coats, AF support and recognition, etc.
And the world keeps on turning just fine.
Unfounded rumor. Its not even on the list for consideration.
This is not on the list for the national uniform committee for this summers pending reg issue.

AFJROTC also doesnt have the rules and requirements we do. Plus they are directly overseen by the USAF.
Different money, different rules. Apples to oranges.
During our Squadrons last EVAL ... the AF person in charge was introducing his crew and made the distinction. "If you have any questions just look for the people in the green boots. Thats the Air Force personnel."
I think they like being able to spot a CAP person by the black boots from a mile away.
Its a good thing. :)
Until they change CAPM 39-1 or send out an ICL don't believe anything anyone tells you.
As SPAM says- "It's not on the agenda of the Uniform Committee"
I think that about covers the tower fly-by.
