After reading the FY11 Analysis slideshow and notes, I once again noticed how much fun the NHQ Safety Team is having with these briefings. Personally I don't mind the humor as long as the point is getting across in a serious manner, and I feel that the presentations are always informational to safety (regardless of relevance to CAP). Thoughts?

Eg: ... Using the foundational principles of practice and proficiency, a member who desires to learn more will inevitably be less risky than putting a high school athlete on the mound for the Minnesota Twins to pitch against the Yankees in the final game of the World Series.

I was in the Navy during the days of safety flicks that used a humourous approach. They seemed to get the message across better than today's "beatings by Powerpoint". The weekly safety messages from the Naval Safety Center are also, in large part, humour based.

Humour works, in small doses, but requires a serious undertone to maintain the strength of the message.

I love the humor, it really helps break up the death. Y PowerPoint, and I use it whenever I can so long as it doesn't take away from the message.
