NJWG Summer Basic Encampment

off topic. But to further derail this thread...what squadron are you from ozzy and when/where do u meet? I'm on long island for the summer and wanna try to go to some meetings. I know better handeled by PM.

Anyways, I also met quite a few NJWg cadets at the past two NER Competitions, both for NCC(08) and SAR(09). All of them very professional, and dedicated, and I'd love to one year go down to NJ to staff an encampment there, maybe next year if I don't staff NYWg.

Back on the NJWG Encampment topic, I have several questions regarding some items on the Packing List:
First, it says:
1 Grade insignia with backing
1 CAP cut out with backing
Is this an oversight? I thought it was changed to grade on both collars in an ICL to M39-1.
Secondly:
7 Plain black t-shirts (no writing or pictures)
I am certain that this is IAW the 1 Nov 2006 NJWG Supplement to M39-1. As a NYWGer, can I wear brown t-shirts? I just don't have that many black t-shirts.

Don't know about the CAP cut outs, but you have to bring the BLACK Tshirts.

Black T-shirts are required. We will make the correction to the uniform list IAW the ICL changes.

I believe Hanes or Fruit of the Loom sells a 3 or 5 pack of black T-shirts. I vaguely remember seeing these available at Walmart or Target in the tshirt/undershirt section.

Yes Wal-Mart does, however I believe they are the "Pocket" variation. Over for the CTWg encampment, a question was asked about being able to have pockets on them, and they said no, so over at NJWg, that might be the same. I am though, trying to find where I can find these black t-shirts I got last year for NYWg encampment. I think Target might have them. They were fruit of the loom, perfect-t with no pocket. Or try K-Mart.

Or worse comes to worse, order online here, it's cheap-ish and could be fast

Check Walgreens if you have one nearby; the local one (in NC) has a display of colored t-shirts on sale at 5 for $10.00.

I recently purchased a black non-pocket T-Shirt from Walmart and I think it was something like $4, but only came individually from what I saw. Some Walmarts seem to only carry the pocket version, and others seem to carry both. Also, as mentioned earlier, I remember seeing a multiple-tshirt (3? 5?) pack a while ago, but it could have been with the pocket as I didn't really look closely.

Do the bases still sell black t-shirts?

Well according to fruit.com (Yes, it's Fruit of the Loom's website!), AFFES does sell black pocket-free t-shirts.

To bring the topic back in line a little, we just had an opening for a flight commander. Cadet officers may email their interest to the encampment commander, Lt Col Robert Jennings, at njwg.encampment@njwg.cap.gov.

The encampment is from 16 Aug - 22 Aug at Ft Dix, NJ with the staff reporting 15 Aug.

Registration closes for in-flight Basics and NCO Academy students in less than 3 days!

The NJ Wing Basic Encampment and NCO Academy is being held at Fort Dix and McGuire AFB from Saturday, 15 August to 22 August 2009. The registration is available online at http://2009njwgencampment.eventbrite.com/. Costs for Basics and NCOA students is $125.
