What was proposed is now Final!   Many things included, but what may interest many CAP pilots is that the old requirement for 10 hours of complex time to get a Commercial or CFI, can be replaced with 10 hours in a TAA (Technically Advanced Airplane) instead. Which means a CAP Mission Pilot who wants to get his IFR, Commercial, and CFI can do it all using a CAP C-172 or 182 with G1000. No more big expense of finding a complex plane. :)

I'd been waiting/hoping for them to finalize it and allow the test to be taken in a TAA.  I do believe I'll start working towards my Commercial ASEL again now that there's a G1000 Cessna within a reasonable drive.  Would like to become a CFI eventually, but one step at a time...
