If there are any active duty USAF recruiters on here, can one of you please PM me? I have a few questions.

USAF Recruiters suck - liars, beggers, and thieves, the lot of 'em.

;)

(Disclaimer: note the "winky wink" and be careful on how one replies to my comment....you never know someone's background.)

Really? ;D How can you tell a recruiter is lying?  Their lips are moving ;)

And they're smiling! :D

I'd laugh, but my cousin almost ended up unknowingly enlisting because the recruiter told him the papers to sign for enlisting and going to OCS were the same.  Thankfully my cousin is mostly literate and figured out something wasn't quite right.

Silly novices....didn't you know that before you say something about a USAF recruiter, the opening caption must begin as, "I heard from a friend/my Grandpa/from the History Channel/from the Humane Society that...."

Besides, I heard from "shorning" that even Courtney Love wouldn't come within 2000 feet of a USAF recruiter, for fear of losing her honest reputation.

Monty, haven't you mentioned your recruiting days elsewhere?? Oh, was I supposed to say that? ;)

Now see, you blew it!  Next you're going to tell everybody that Santa is really Mom 'n Dad.

;D

EDIT: Here's a pic from some time ago.

I did't steal people.....I stole the Army's "cut out people" and held them for ransom until Army recruiters bought me lunch.

Amazing what Army recruiters do when they see a photo like this taped to their door with a ransom note.

Had an English teacher in high school that got disciplined for doing just that.

Edit: Recruiter not wearing his ribbons.  :o

No ribbons and no lying.

Now you know why AFRS kicked me to AFROTC well before the end of that enlistment.

Here is a question: the Army Guard allows one to attend OCS and commission with an associates, stipulating that one must attain a bachelors within 4 years of commissioning. Does the Air Guard or Air Reserve offer this?

Calen,

Don't let the blue suit fool you; the active, reserve, and guard blue dudes' recruiting services (and corresponding requirements for special programs) are as different as might be an Army, Navy, and USMC recruiter.

I can't tell you how many times somebody was stumped when they asked me a reserve or guard question (by phone or in person) and I had to vector them to a different phone number or office.

Folks (perhaps justifiably) assume that we're one big happy team when in actuality, all three "subtypes" (Active, Guard, Reserve) have different bosses and different requirements/needs/processes for just about everything.

Best advice would be to either (a) open an Air Guard recruiter thread or (b) call one.

I believe Air Guard allows an associates with the stipulation you will get a Bachelors within 2 years after you complete any required AD training.  For the Reserve, there is the link to the OTS website below.  Open up your internet to your states Air Guard HQ pages, find the number for Officer accessions or promotions.  Or call the S-1 and ask for the number to Officer recruiting.  Sorry I couldn't find out more.

What's up monkeys?

A little creative cut and paste on a computer would've created USAF nametapes for that Army cut out, then set him up as a Security Forces guy.  ;D
