I was lookin' up some info on web domains, and came across the .GOV domain WHOIS search (www.dotgov.gov). I put in "CAP.gov", and it came out as being registered to the Department of Defense. I then tried "CAPNHQ.gov", and it came out as being registered by a "Non-Federal Agency".
To anyone familiar with the inner-workings of CAP internet domains - can you explain why one of registered under one group, and one is registered under another?
The .gov domains are under the control of CAP, last I checked it was still Col. Webb of Great Lakes Region.
I wouldn't put too much worry in the descriptors in the TLD databases, especially for the .govs.
