I am trying to gather a list of all the awards that have been awarded by the National Commander, or Region Commanders to Regions or Wings for Disaster relief, SAR, etc.
I know about the National Commander's Unit Citation for the Southeast Region Deepwater Horizon oil spill, but not sure if there is any others?
Please feel free to give dates awarded and what award it was.
Me thinks that's going to be a pretty difficult endeavor trying to do so in this manner.
Have you tried reaching out to the National Historian and Historians for the various regions/wings?
Michigan Wing, 1987, I'd have to dig through my file for the PA to get the exact dates, but it was for the wings response to the crash of NWA flight 255 at Detroit Metro Airport, as well as support to the visit of Pope John Paul II to the Detroit area a month later.
