Lt Col Donald J. Bahr

Don Bahr, 74, passed away June 27, 2021.  He was born May 25, 1947 in Akron to the late Frederick and Gertrude Bahr.                 

Don embodied a life of service. After high school, he served in the United States Marine Corps in Vietnam. Later in life, he volunteered his time with the VFW, American Legion, Civil Air Patrol, MAPS Air Museum, FEMA, and numerous youth teams for his children.

Don did not discriminate with his time or advice, he had a knack for making friends, and would talk to anyone who would listen. He would assess a person by their deeds and character; his currency was respect and honor, and he would pay both generously. Don will be remembered fondly by those whose lives he touched.

Besides his parents, Don was preceded in death by his brother, David Bahr.  He is survived by his wife, Sharon; children Brian (Danielle) Bahr and Julie (Jake) Bahr-Thaggard; grandchildren, Isaac, Owen and Kayleigh; cousins and best friends, Mariann, Nancy and Kathy; sister-in-law, Chris; as well as many other family and friends.
