Anyone have any experience with watches from Dakota Watch Company?

In my area they are generally at mall kiosks, and look like they have some really neat features, however I am somewhat of a watch snob, with Citizen and Timex being my "floor", and the price / features available on the Dakota products strike me that they are likely not very good overall quality.

No, but it looks like they also make Beringer, which seem to be pretty decent, nothing worth shelling out more than a few bucks.  All things being equal, I'd go with Timex or Casio

That's my first instinct, my Navihawk and Expedition are serving me well, but some of the watches they have show some pretty neat features.

There's one with 4 built-in high-bright LEDs for use as a flashlight, a bunch of aviator type ones, and of course
lots that are "tactical-esque".   ;D

I was looking at the new Citizen 'hawk's the other day, and I still say they are the best for value and function
of anything short of a Breitling.  I have the Blue-Angels hawk because I preferred the blue color over the black T-Birds version.

The one I have now was a replacement for a stolen (lost?) one, and I had the chance to get the lighter, rounder titanium version, but frankly didn't like it, I like the heft of a big watch on my arm.  My only complaint is the lack of a back light.  The luminous dial is fine, but you can't use the digital displays at night for alternate timezones.  For that nothing beats an indiglow, but the guy at the watch store the other day said that the back lights cause the most service issues, so Citizen chose to continue to forgo them in favor of stability.

A quick search on Google turned up this customer review: (Link)

Quote...I had been wearing this watch for a few months when the screws started falling out. Seriously... I contacted the company - asking them just to send me some screws (I could replace them myself!) - and they said I could take it to a Dakota repair shop and pay to have them fix it. It sucks. ... Also, the compass is a joke... The knife is dull and the scissors are tiny...

Personally?  www.breitling.com   Save your money and invest in an instrument.

The watch I wear I bought from Dakota, and I haven't had a problem with it. It's a Casio WaveCeptor. I have the analog face showing the time in my time zone, and the digital showing zulu time. I know, comm geek :D
