Title: GPS Shoes
Post by: SSgt Rudin on January 23, 2008, 07:41:22 PM
GPS Shoes & watches, relatively inexpensive PLB's... how long do you think it will take before our SAR program just becomes "this guy is rigggghhhhhttttt there, go get him."

I love the part that says:
Quote... A shoe stays attached to the wearer, provides protection from the elements, cannot be lost, and draws attention if not worn.

These people must not have kids...

I'm wondering how long before we have missions ending this way: "Uhh, we need to look in your closet, we think your shoes are in need of rescue."

Do they come in red? 3 inch heel perhaps? Cuz my girlfriend will buy them. She likes anything with a heel that's "different". (I like it cuz I'll know when she's nowhere near me)

This isn't the same as ELT, though similar concept.  The only thing I don't like about this is that if you are out of range of a cell phone tower (hence you need a cingular plan for this to work) it is kind of worthless it seems.

ELTs don't need anything but a satelite and a DFer :)
