Happy 70th Anniversary Civil Air Patrol. Please post any activities that your wing may be having to celebrate this momentous occasion.

It is Civil Air Patrol week in GAWG courtesy of Sen. Sanford Bishop.

Well I'm finally pinning on Captain tonight, yay!

That and we're thinking about having a dinner this weekend for the squadron.

It was the 60th anniversary open house flier for the local unit that caught my attention, found on the pilot shop counter .. "Really, they meet there? Thats right near by... " (all this time, I never knew..) and I went. The speaker that night was General Bolden, and a few weeks later there was a visit from one of the Tuskegee Airmen. "Yup, this is cool.. ".. as I waited for my application to process.  In those days it seemed to take forever.

I'm finishing up paperwork for the Gill Robb Wilson Award now. :)
