Don't start.  I've already been doing a series of side comments over time...."When I was a cadet..."
"...Pluto was a planet"
"...we had a manned space program in America"
"...ELTs didn't send you their phone number"
"...we used maps on paper"
"...there was this primitive space station called Mir"
"...there was no Feik achievement"
"...you could buy this equipment at the CAP Supply Depot"
"...you could buy all your uniforms at MCSS"
"...we had the Bookstore"
"...Senior Members looked like Smurfs"

Майор Хаткевич

May 6, 2003 - Waukegan Composite Squadron.

Started coming to meetings in April, but this was right before my sister was born, so membership paperwork was a few weeks delayed.

Had a "break" for college, 2008-2012, but kept membership up.

This year was 10 years since my basic encampment, which was my 7th overall (out of 11 possible).

Despite the timeline, never earned the Feik, only the Wright Bros Achievement. Never earned the Wright Brothers Award, but was issued one retroactively with my Mitchell.

Started: 1996 with Tar River Composite Squadron 32057
Left: 2000 due to burn out and tired of pulling knives from my back.  Left after giving up Squadron CC.  Was Squadron CC, ESO, Historian, Mission Scanner, and GTL.

US Coast Guard Aux: 2001 after 11 September.
Left: 2006 due to extended drive time and just got married.  Tired of Old Boy Network not GOBN.  They just wanted to cruise around their area of Lake Gaston and not patrol the entire lake and rivers as we were tasked to do.  They loved the uniform but not the patrols so much.  Younger members got tired and joined other units or just quit.  Tired of fighting the powers that be in the Flotilla.  Was Flotilla Staff Officer for Aides to Navigation.

Re-started CAP: 2012 and reinstated back to Captain in 2014.  Still with Tar River Composite Squadron NC-057.  Currently: PDO, ESO, Historian, Testing Officer, and Asst IT.

Sorry...that one bugs me...it's National Capital.  The "Capitol" is the building where Congress meets, the Capital is the entire seat of government.
