1 - can I find open missions by aircraft or personnel?
2 - can I find prior missions by CAPID?
3 - can I find missions by unit designation?

3. I don't think so
3 - Not that I'm aware of, for starters because "unit" isn't something WMIRS logs, all missions are Wing-level.
Bear in mind what you can, or can't see in WMIRS is dependent on staff posting or ES rating.
(i.e. the wing DOS can see a lot more then a rank and file member).

The personnel sign in export does actually contain unit of record IIRC, but I still don't think there's a report to aggregate that cross-mission.
