Greg Chase
went to be with Jesus Christ his Lord and Savior on 12/12/20. With his family by his side Greg chose to leave his failing body to be with his brother and parents after a brief but hard fought battle with undetected Cancer. Greg was born August 29, 1953 in Newburyport, MA.

When he was young Greg moved to and grew up in Inglewood, CA. but continued to spend his Summers on the East Coast. Greg retired from the Ventura County Sheriff's Department after serving 30 years. During his time with the department he had numerous positions including patrolling and his passion as a Rescue Specialist and Crew Chief on the Air Unit where he was a part of many rescues. Upon his retirement in 2009 Greg continued to support the department as a firearms instructor. Greg worked over 30 years in the US Air Force Auxiliary- Civil Air Patrol including flying for rescue and reconnaissance missions and teaching cadets. Reaching his highest rank of Vice Commander of California Wing, he is honored with receiving the CAP Exceptional Service Award posthumously. In 2011 Greg joined the department of security for the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library where he worked near Air Force One continuing his commitment to Law Enforcement and Aircrafts.

Greg is survived by his wife, Dene of 38 years, his two sons Chris (wife Lauren, children Amelia & Jack) and Jeff (wife Kate, daughter Freddie). As well as family from coast to coast whom he was incredibly close with. Greg was the ultimate "Grampy" and family man, never missing an opportunity to be with loved ones near and far. Greg was a huge sports fanatic, playing ice hockey and baseball through his high school years. Growing up on the East Coast developed his love of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots which he passed on to his sons. Greg enjoyed taking his family to Fenway Park in Boston, and even attended the World Series game five in 2018. He also cherished his guy trips to Hawaii for the NFL Pro Bowl and was a season ticket holder for the LA Kings. Greg was an avid boater, water & snow skier, camper and lover of craft beers with his sons. Greg is loved and will be missed by so many that he touched in his career and personal life.
