I was just asked by our Commander to enter Unit Citations in member records. I know I can add them to my record, but cannot find an option to add it for others. Any advice??

We had a thread on this a while back, and it appears that it can only be entered as a historical award, by the individual. Then the commander gets to approve it.

As pointed out it can be entered as a historical award. You do so via the Award Recommendation Module under Personnel (you must have access to this). This is the same place you go to submit new awards. As a result, it is very important to make sure you check the Historical Award box in section 4.

You do have to fill in the information, and Once submitted it will go through a validation chain that is the same as if it was being submitted as a new award. I highly recommended uploading a scanned copy of the original CAPF120, or certificate if the CAPF120 is unavailable.

According to my region commander, unit awards do not show up in individual records. At least that was the rejection notice I got when I submitted a historical unit citation.

Annnddd...

There doesn't appear to be any way to add it on an individual basis using My Account | Service Ribbons.

Well it's not a service ribbon, so at least that kinda makes sense.

Agreed, but that appears to be the only other method for adding an award.

Just want to make sure I get the award you are trying to submit. Is it a Unit Citation Award pursuant to CAPR 39-3 [9.j.]? Or are we talking about informal "awards" from the unit like a Certificate of Appreciation?

The OP says Unit Citation. The region commander is correct, and I have verified that through my own experience in trying to enter my own UCAs.

In May 2019 I received a reply from Nat'l that unit citations are part of a member's unit record; not recorded in eServices as stated by others.  Our wing website has a page that lists the Wing Unit Citation, newspaper articles around the event, etc.

A member supplied documents verifying he was a member, in fact involved with the mission that led to the award.
I sent a letter to his unit CC stating that I'd verified his eligibility for the award.  That was placed in his personnel folder at the unit.  Done.

If there's several members involved I'd prepare a letter in the form of a personnel authorization, listing the award and all eligible members. One copy to each for filing.

That's exactly what I did for one of CAWG's UCAs. I generated a supplemental PA, referencing the NHQ PA, that listed all of the squadron members who were on the roster anytime during the period of the award. I attached that to a copy of the NHQ PA and stuck it in the F66/F45. Done.
