Honor Guard Academy was an NCSA. Honor Academy is what National re-branded the program as after HGA NCSA went away. Is there a reason to use the NCSA language over the current "official" name?

KSWG Ceremonies School

First: the Web site listed above changes the staff vacancy page is now: http://www.kswg.cap.gov/cadet-programs/ceremonies-school/staff-recruiting-main-page

Second: Capt Hatkevich's question... and sorry I made this much longer than it needed to be but the information will probably answer the other question I got on this topic.

As you are correctly aware the National Honor Guard Academy ended operations in the last few years, and in order to prevent all Honor Guard training from ending they did create the Cadet Honor Academy program (Find more information about the CHA program here: http://www.capmembers.com/cadet_programs/activities/cadethonor/) and released Interim Guidance: Cadet Honor Academy dated January 2013 to guide that program.

Interim Guidance: Cadet Honor Academy dated January 2013: As you can see the CHA program is designed to be primer for continued training as it is only a weekend (minimum of 14 contact hour) training event. Recognizing that 14 hours is only good as a primer the Kansas Wing Ceremonies School expanded the CHA training into a week-long training event covering all of the CHA courses in more detail... This is our Tier 1 Academy: The Drill Leadership Academy.

The Winter 2014/15 Drill Leadership Academy was designed to be comprised of 3 separate courses; The Color Guard Course, The Drill Excellence Course, and The Excellence Prep Course. Each of these 3 courses receive CHA Credit but dive into different areas of proficiency:
-   The Color Guard Course. In addition to covering all CHA requirements, this course is designed to be a primer for National Color Guard Competition. (With the recent changes to NCC we are still revaluating the curriculum for 2015/16)
-   The Drill Excellence Course. In addition to covering all CHA requirements, this course was designed to be a primer for National Drill Competition. (With the recent changes to NCC we are still revaluating the curriculum for 2015/16, Most likely this will become an Encampment Staff Prep School for cadets that need to become very proficient in drill of Flights, Squadrons and beyond)
-   The Excellence Prep Course. In addition to covering all CHA requirements, this course is designed to build up cadets who are not physically ready to take on the challenges of Color Guard and Honor Guard Training at the KSWG Ceremonies School.
Graduating from any of these courses would cover the prerequisite Color Guard skills and knowledge required before entering into The Kansas Wing Honor Guard Academy.

The Kansas Wing Honor Guard Academy in a nationally accredited Cadet Special Activity and graduates and staff will garner the NCSA ribbon. The Kansas Wing Honor Guard Academy is not a CHA. It is a fully operational HGA with multiple Tier levels for cadets to return and continue their learning and skill development. (NOTE: When I pulled up the site (http://www.capmembers.com/cadet_programs/activities/csa-ribbon-list/), to show that we do have NCSA accreditation, it does list this activity as the "NRC Honor Academy". This is incorrect. Cadets that go to the Drill leadership Academy and get CHA credit will NOT get an NCSA ribbon. Because of this confusion I have emailed NHQ and asked them to update the web page.)

Because there are multiple classes in the HGA, DLA, and CHA that overlap, we combined our organization in the KSWG Ceremonies School to oversee these 2 Academies.

The Ceremonies School also offers week long courses for Senior Members. We are thinking about restructuring the SM courses for next winter. If you are interested in attending as a SM Student or Staff you can fill out this Survey (http://www.kswg.cap.gov/cadet-programs/ceremonies-school/staff-recruiting-main-page/survey-for-interested-persons) and let us know what you are interested in. Thank you.

The NCSA page has now been updated and lists "Kansas Wing Honor Guard Academy (new for 2015)" as a program garnering the NCSA ribbon: http://www.capmembers.com/cadet_programs/activities/csa-ribbon-list/
