Warm, caring, insightful and fun are words that come close to describing Jaxon Leasure. Jaxon departed this life on the evening of June 8, 2023 in a tragic motorcycle accident. Though only 17 years old, he touched many lives. Growing up in a military family, Jaxon was born in Charleston, South Carolina and spent much of his childhood near Naval bases in Charleston, Virginia Beach, Guam and Coronado, CA. The family settled in Nashville as Jaxon reached his teens. He attended Montgomery Bell Academy, Davidson Academy and had just graduated from Hillwood High School. He excelled at art and his work was featured at Cheekwood while he was at MBA, where he also was on the golf, chess, rowing and rifle teams. At DA, he was on the golf team and became one of the team's top tennis players. At Hillwood, he enjoyed being the manager of the girls soccer team, helper to the tennis team, broadcast anchor to the Hilltopper News, and Student Section Leader. He was also a member of the Civil Air Patrol, serving as Company Staff Sergeant with the Music City Composite Squadron.

Though Jaxon was interested in many subjects and activities, he was focused on his career goal to become a US Coast Guard Rescue Swimmer. He wanted to serve his country and be a part of an elite program where his "whole job would be to save people." He trained daily, graduated early, and had turned in the final paperwork for the enlistment process just three days before his accident. He was so very excited.

He spent much of this past year on staff at the Margaret Maddox East YMCA, where he served as a membership associate, a life guard and a swimming instructor. In fact, just hours before his accident that night, Jaxon had performed his first "save" at the outdoor pool.

Jaxon had a knack for making friends instantly and there wasn't anyone he couldn't strike up a conversation with. He was passionate about checking on his friends, fitness and clean living, and had a special love for dogs. His family and many friends grieve the loss of a young man who had so much to give. Jaxon simply made the world a better place by just being himself.

Jaxon is survived by his parents James "Trip" & Darcy Leasure; brother Jaron; grandparents George & Jean Leasure and J & Cindy Lawrence; Aunts and Uncles, Robert & Carolyn White, JB & Courtney Lawrence Savie, Jake and Abbie Lawrence, Corey Burton, LaDawn Krantz; White, Burton, and Krantz cousins; and his precious dog, Chloe.

He is preceded in death by his Aunt LaKeshia Richardson Burton.
