Cadet Programs Management

Clay Shepherd in AlaskaWing has developed a system of agreements, or "contracts," to help him manage the revised (1 Apr 03) Cadet Program and his cadets' progression. The agreements are listed below as an optional tool for your squadron. These agreements are in Microsoft Word format and can easily be changed to meet your squadron's specific needs.

We file them with the Form 52's, but it's no big deal if their lost or anything after their filed as long as the CAPF 66 has been updated and hte CAPF 52-X signed.

I am hoping to use these as a motivational tool to get some of my Cadet officers to get their butts in gear and move on to being 1st Lts. I think 1 year is more than long enough to have remained in their current rank, but thus far nothing has moved any of them forward to make the effort to progress on.

So when I was asking for comments about "using" them I suppose I was looking for guidance on making them as effective as possible. ie. Looking for anything you might have done in the actual implimentation of the contract to enhance their opperational utility...

I put all of my Cadet officers under contract last night.
They all seemed surprised, but at the same time it got them all thinking about what they need to do to get to the next rank.

Tried to put the senior NCOs under contract, but we had a very poor showing of them at the meeting.

I instructed each of the 2nd Lts to take them home and read over them and then to bring them back to me filled out and signed next week, when we would all commit to getting all of them to the next rank ASAP.
