Title: Encampment approvals
Post by: Walkman on February 21, 2014, 04:07:09 PM
New CC question here. I've searched CAPKB, 52-16, eServices and this board & I can't quite find the answer.

A cadet called me and asked about the F31 app for encampment. On page 2 there's a spot for unit CC signature with the note: Squadron Commander's signature is not necessary if the activity is approved in eServices or if it is
a squadron activity.

I can't find a spot in eServices for encampment. Does this then need a print signature or am I missing a module?

Things that you've approved participation through eServices, primarily NCSAs, CLA, etc. Encampment would not be one of them.

Your approval is the signature.

^ Yep - encampments have no module.

The key with the F31 and encampments is that you, as a commander, have reviewed the app,
and that the cadet is prepared and ready to attend.

I can't tell you how many apps I received which included the sig page in a clearly faded fax version
with the day before in the header, indicating the CC had not seen the app, let alone actually reviewed it.

Then those cadets have "issues", either medical, mental, or preparation and people are surprised.
