The AFRCC has finally gotten around to updating the page where they put their annual reports.  http://www.1af.acc.af.mil/units/afrcc/annualreports/index.asp

Some interesting facts from the 2008 reports --
-CAP accounted for 95% of federal assets tasked by AFRCC.
-There were actually more 406 ELT than 121.5 ELT incidents.
-Colorado CAP received credit for assisting with radar data analysis (the wizard)

The number of 406 beacons that could not be localized to a certain area seems very high (1440 beacons).

Any of the MD people know what save we got?

That does seem odd.  Why would they not be able to localize a 406 but were able to do that with the 121.5 ELTs? That accounts for over half of the 406 incidents.

Its interesting to compare the number of actual CAP missions in a state to the number of the incidents in that state (mostly ELTs) to see just how busy we would be if these guys weren't able to resolve so many of them in other ways.

I do think they should start breaking down a lot of their ELT-related results by ELT type.  For example, what was the distress/nondistress percentage with 406 vs 121.5, who resolved them, etc.
