From Mashable, which has an OUTSTANDING blog, BTW.  If you don't subscribe to RSS feeds, start.  Mashable is a good place to start.  They come up with some really great resource lists.

I don;t know if this is what you were talking about, but I found this Google Flight Simulator on the internet.  It lets you choose locations then fly over them.  A little unrealistic plane, but- hey, it is free.

Which version of Google Earth do you need?  I haven't been able to use the key-stroke to open it on mine.  I have the basic free version.  Do you need to have the subscription?

^It is included in the newest version.  I have the free one too and have it.  However, I will note that I had to "upgrade" to the latest version to get it.

I upgraded my google earth, and flew the flight sim......Controls are VERY touchy.

Fun though!!

I figured out what the issue was.  You have to make sure that the cursor is not in the Search box.  It would start typing everytime I hit the "A".  I finally got it to run.  I think that the F-16 is more stable than the Cirrus.  JMHO.

Makes me wonder when they will start linking MSFS with either Google Earth or Terraserver live and online. It would give new meaning to "photo-realistic scenery" as the scenery below you is photo-mapped with the latest sat-shots and aerials available in near-real-time - or at least as real-time as the currency of the photos allow.

You could even buzz your own house. The Combat Flightsim version would let you strafe your ex's  ;D
