ATTENTION ALL CADET NCOs and CADET OFFICERS.

Illinois Wing Summer Encampment will be the site for the first (or the first in a long, long time) Illinois Wing Cadet Non Commissioned Officers School Officer Training School. The ILWG NCOS and OTS will be held 21 July 2007 through 28 July 2007 at Marseilles Training Center, Illinois Army National Guard Facility, Marseilles, Illinois.

Cadet NCOs and Officers who wish to learn and enhance their leadership skills are invited to apply. Classes will be taught on teamwork, leadership styles, problem solving, followership, command decisions, time management, organizational skills, class development, teaching and training skills and lots of "on the job" command experience just to name a few. Plus we will emphasize the CAP chain of command and leadership for both Cadet NCOs and Officers at the home squadron level. All the important skill sets for cadets to have and bring back to their home squadrons. Instruction to be provided by members of the Air National Guard, United States Air Force and Civil Air Patrol.

The NCOS and OTS will be held in conjunction with the 2007 Illinois Wing Summer Encampment. Cadets who wish to apply need only to follow the instructions here http://www.ilcap.org/se2007/Documents/Information_for_Advanced_Training_Squadron_Cadets.pdf for ATS (Advanced Training Squadron). This link is located at the ILWG Summer Encampment Website at http://www.ilcap.org/se2007/home.htm click on the

information link, then the second year cadet link then Advanced Training Squadron.

Cadets should mark their applications on the top in red letters either OTS for cadet officers or NCO for cadet NCOs in addition to ATS. Please be sure to include an active, current email address with you application. You will receive a email asking you to complete some preliminary work prior to arrival at the encampment. Any CAP cadet who has at least one encampment credit may apply. Cadets with only one encampment credit who are not cadet officers should apply for the NCOS. Cadets with two or more encampment credits, having achieved at least the grade of Cadet Master Sergeant or higher should apply for the OTS. If in doubt of which school to apply for please email us for assistance.

Questions regarding the NCOS and OTS should be directed to ILWG DCP Maj G Kelly Robertson at cp@ilwg.cap.gov or the Encampment Commander Maj Noelle Sublett, ilwgsecc@yahoo.com . More information to follow shortly.
